Lilith, the Black Flame, and the Cycles of Power

Long before the false dichotomy of good and evil was etched into monotheistic doctrine, there was Lilith the serpent of fire, the First Mother of autonomy and desire, the Queen who walks the unseen path between realms. She is neither confined nor chained, neither cursed nor fallen, but the force of sovereignty itself, weaving through time as a power both feared and venerated.
The Lilithian path, like the whisper of Lilith through the desert wind, recognizes that adversarial forces are not simply destruction and rebellion they are the fires of illumination and evolution. The Qliphoth, the Tequfot, the Daevas—these are the paths not of submission, but of self-deification, the reclamation of hidden wisdom that the so-called righteous have long sought to obscure.
The Shadow Tree and the Forbidden Fruit
In Hebrew Qabalah, the Qliphoth stands not as a corruption, but as a mirror of power, reflecting that which monotheism fears most—independent will. Here, Lilith, alongside Naamah, Igrath, and Mahalath, holds dominion over the Tequfot—the four solstices and equinoxes, standing upon the precipice of creation and dissolution, at the crossroads of flesh and divinity.
As Bahya ben Asher ibn Halawa writes in his 14th-century Kabbalistic commentary:
“And behold, Lilith is the scant measure that is abomination (Mic. 6:10), which Igrat and Naamah carry to the Land of Shinar, as Zechariah (5:11) said. And about this it is said to the fearers of God, neither shall any plague [Nega’] come nigh thy tent.” (Patai 1981: 459f)
Here we see Lilith not as a mere seductress or demon of the night, but as a cosmic force interwoven with the cycles of time, a sovereign ruler of the liminal spaces between shadow and light. With her sisters, she gathers at the Mountains of Darkness, where they rule from sunset until midnight, their spirits moving with the winds of transformation.
The Infernal Union and the Unchained Will

Drawn to Samael, the Twelve-Winged Seraph, Lilith stands in the Infernal Union, a balance of the solar and the lunar, the masculine and the feminine, the untamed and the enlightened. This sacred duality is the core of the advanced practices of the Left Hand Path, and the Lilithian path, where duality is not opposition, but the alchemical process of becoming.
Just as Asmodeus, the son of Naamah and the angel Shamdon, was birthed from the blending of divine and daemonic, so too do we walk between worlds, neither rejecting the flesh nor denying the soul. To invoke Lilith is not to seek mere rebellion—it is to become sovereign, to forge the self anew in the crucible of experience, to rise unshackled. Like a serpent shedding the skin of outdated dogma, lies and conditioning from the past that keep us from understanding and wielding our own power.
Lilith and the Spring Equinox: Fire and Awakening
As the Spring Equinox arrives, Lilith the Younger, shrouded in serpentine fire, emerges in her vernal form the rising force of passion, fertility, and unrelenting power. She is the Shakti, the burning pulse of transformation, the kundalini serpent uncoiling from the base of the spine.
This is the time of balance, of dark and light, of creation and destruction intertwined. It is no accident that Lilith’s fire rises when nature itself shifts, when what lay dormant in the black earth erupts into vitality and desire. Just as Ahriman, the serpent of ancient Persia, tore into the world at the moment of equilibrium, so too do we awaken to the realization that both forces, constructive and destructive, are necessary for our ascent. Just as it is mirrored in the cycles of nature.
To deny the fire is to be consumed by it. To wield it is to become .
The Left hand path Gnosis teaches that the adversarial current is not chaos without purpose, nor destruction without reason. It is the fuel of creation, the path of the self-sovereign who does not kneel before the false light of blind obedience. The Black Flame of Lilith and Samael is not the flickering candle of passive wisdom, but the raging inferno of awakening untamed, unbroken, eternal.

Ritual Acts for the Equinox: Reclaiming the Fire
🔥 Invoke and meditate upon Lilith through the Black Mirror, A reading, or sacred flame between twilight and midnight. Let the shadows speak their wisdom.(Turned off computer screens, Cell phones, and tablets make a good scrying black mirror if you don't have one)
🔥 Burn incense and pour libations of wine or water in her honor, as offerings to the night.
🔥 Honor the Infernal Union—invoke Lilith and Samael together, in their dual nature of Shakti and Shiva the unbreakable and the unbowed.
🔥 At noon on March 21st, light the Black Flame— In the Left Hand Path The Black Flame is seen as the individual's inherent potential, a spark of divinity that connects them to the source energy of creation and the divine. It is never evil. Light a candle, a fire, as a symbolic act of kindling your own will. Speak the words of awakening, not as a plea, but as a declaration of realising your power and divinity.
🔥 Write your desires on a paper and plant it in soil with a new plant or seed, or set it aflame. Watch as the fire carries your desire into the multiverse.
🔥 Reclaim your birthright of power and sovereignty. You are not here to be what others have told you to be, but to ascend as you were always meant to be.
The Adversarial Current is not a force of evil but one of awakening, liberation, and self-mastery. It is the current of transformation that challenges blind obedience, urging the practitioner to confront fear, break through conditioning, and rise into their own power. Often, Left-Hand Path practitioners use the imagery of what mainstream religions deem “evil” as a tool to shatter the falsehoods ingrained in us from childhood—not to embrace it for its own sake, but to dismantle the illusions that keep the masses in submission. By confronting these imposed fears head-on, we strip them of their power, revealing them as mere shadows cast by dogma. The Adversarial Current is the fire that purifies, the force that leads us beyond herd mentality, where we become unchained, sovereign, and free. It is the current of Lilith, Samael, and the Infernal Union, not as adversaries to truth, but as beacons of those who seek to know, to evolve, and to forge their own divine path. The Infernal Union is the sacred alchemical merging of Lilith and Samael, the Shakti and Shiva, within the consciousness of the adept. It is the unification of opposites—the lunar and the solar, the chaotic and the ordered, the adversarial and the divine—culminating in the transcendental state of Samadhi.
As explored in Michael W. Ford’s Luciferian Philosophy, this union is not external but internal, a deep process of self-deification in which the practitioner dissolves all false dualities, embracing both shadow and light as one. In this state, the Kundalini Serpent, often depicted as Lilith herself, rises to the crown, where she meets Samael, the illuminating force of rebellion, knowledge, and divine fire. Their intertwining is the secret of the Adversarial Current—where one does not reject the darkness in favor of light, nor the material in favor of spirit, but instead harnesses both as equal forces of power and transformation.
This is the Left-Hand Path’s Great Work—to walk the serpent’s road, to awaken the divine within, to break the chains of illusion and fear, and to stand as the fully realized, adversarial, sovereign self.
